r Yasmin Chilmeran is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs' Middle East and North Africa Programme. Her research focuses on women's participation in peacebuilding, women's civil society organizing, and broader issues of gender and security in conflict-affected settings, focusing largely on Iraq. She also has an interest in local-global relations that frame gender-equality efforts in Iraq, including the implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security agenda. Yasmin completed her PhD at Monash University's Centre for Gender, Peace, and Security in 2020. In addition to her academic work, Yasmin also engages in consulting and advisory work on gender and the prevention of violent extremism, peacebuilding, and women's inclusion.
