Maria-Louise Clausen is Senior Researcher in International Security at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS), Copenhagen. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Aarhus University (2016), an MA in Political Science from University of Copenhagen, and BA’s in Anthropology and Political Science.
She has published articles in peer reviewed journals such as Small Wars and Insurgencies, International Spectator and Third World Quarterly and appears on a regular basis to comment on events in Iraq and Yemen in Danish media. Her research interests include various dimensions of legitimacy, sovereignty, constructions of narratives in international politics as well as theories and methods of state-building.
