SEPADPod: Helle Malmvig

12th Dec 2018 by Simon Mabon

On this episode of SEPADPod Simon chats with Helle Malmvig, Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies. Helle is the author of a large number of books and articles relating to sovereignty, identity and sectarianism in the contemporary Middle East. In a wide ranging conversation, Simon and Helle discuss what provoked Helle's interest in the Middle East, her exploration of identities, and the way in which sectarian language is (not) used in Syria and Lebanon, particularly in music videos. This really is a fascinating discussion and adds a different perspective to discussions of sectarianism.
